Major airlines, including Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Akasa Air, issued advisories warning passengers of potential delays and urging them to verify their flight status before traveling. The India Meteorological Department issued red and yellow alerts for the region, forecasting continued thunderstorms and gusty winds.
Beyond the airport, the downpour caused significant traffic congestion and waterlogging across Delhi and surrounding areas like Noida and Ghaziabad. Commuters reported substantial delays, while the weather office attributed the persistent rainfall to an active monsoon trough and moisture-laden winds.
