Leopard Sighting Reported in Mettur Forest Area

A leopard has been spotted for the first time in the Chinnamalai area of the Mettur forest in Salem district. Local residents captured footage of the animal on their mobile phones, and the videos have since been widely shared on social media.

The sighting has caused significant concern among the local population. In response, the forest department has intensified surveillance operations in the area to prevent the leopard from entering residential zones.
