Devastating floods in Nepal have resulted in at least 543 deaths, according to reports from the nation's disaster authority and Chinese state media. The disaster, which struck on Wednesday, has also left more than 1,500 people currently missing.
Amid the ongoing rescue operations, authorities confirmed that 85 Indian nationals have been successfully rescued from the affected areas. Search and recovery efforts remain underway as officials continue to assess the full scale of the catastrophe.
The death toll rose following reports that at least five additional individuals perished in the floods, as confirmed by Chinese state media. Disaster management teams are working to locate the hundreds of people still unaccounted for across the region.
