The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration has cancelled the drug sale licence of Cipla Pharma & Life Sciences Ltd.'s facility in Wadki, Pune. The regulatory action follows identified irregularities regarding the storage, record-keeping, and distribution of Reactin Plus Tablets.
Authorities seized stock valued at approximately Rs 11.91 lakh after the company failed to fully comply with directives to recall misbranded tablets. The FDA issued a show-cause notice to the firm before finalizing the cancellation of the licence, which took effect on August 27, 2026.
The state regulator emphasized that it maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward lapses in drug safety and quality. Officials stated that strict adherence to regulatory requirements is mandatory, particularly concerning the distribution of Schedule H prescription medications.
