Praggnanandhaa Wins Historic Grand Chess Tour

Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa has become the first player from his country to win the Grand Chess Tour. He secured the title in St. Louis on Thursday after a dramatic comeback victory against Fabiano Caruana, finishing with a 15-13 aggregate score.

Caruana entered the final day with a six-point lead following the classical games. Praggnanandhaa successfully overturned the deficit by winning both rapid games and maintaining his composure throughout the subsequent blitz section to claim the $200,000 top prize.

In the third-place match, Wesley So defeated Vincent Keymer with an 18-12 victory. So dominated the blitz phase of the contest after splitting the rapid games to secure his podium finish.
