AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has sarcastically dismissed the growing campaign within Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) to position Tamil Nadu CM Vijay as a candidate for Prime Minister. Palaniswami remarked that Vijay could even aspire to replace Donald Trump as the President of the United States, emphasizing that while such ambitions are a personal choice, they remain detached from political reality.
The former Chief Minister further criticized the current administration, alleging a complete breakdown in law and order over the past 110 days. He claimed that the state government is prioritizing social media optics over effective governance, leading to a rise in criminal activities including murders and robberies.
Meanwhile, the 'Vijay for PM' pitch, supported by TVK leaders Aadhav Arjuna and Sarathkumar, has sparked debate among political allies. While MDMK chief Vaiko cautioned against public statements that could complicate alliances, Vijay has yet to comment on the campaign or his potential national political ambitions.
