Authorities in Madhya Pradesh have launched an investigation into a fraud ring allegedly using the name of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay to swindle money from the public. The group reportedly contacts individuals claiming to represent the Chief Minister's charitable foundation, promising financial assistance or business grants of up to 1 million rupees.
Victims are coerced into paying various fees, including registration, verification, and processing charges, ranging from 1,000 to 50,000 rupees. The Indore Crime Branch has registered cases following these reports. Police have issued a public warning urging citizens not to fall for these fraudulent promises, noting that social media posts exploiting the Chief Minister's name are circulating across northern states.
