The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is set to resume launch operations on September 4 at 02:55 a.m. from Sriharikota. The mission will utilize the GSLV F17 launch vehicle to deploy the EOS-05 earth observation satellite, ending a seven-month pause that followed the failed PSLV-C62 mission in January.
Also known as GISAT-1A, the EOS-05 satellite is engineered to provide frequent imaging of large regions to support monitoring of agriculture, forestry, and natural disasters. Unlike standard earth observation satellites positioned in low earth orbit, this mission is designed for a higher geosynchronous orbit.
This launch marks a return to activity for the agency after a series of technical anomalies affected missions between 2025 and 2026. While the January failure was attributed to a third-stage rocket issue, the findings from the subsequent failure analysis committee remain unreleased.
