Chief Secretary Sai Kumar has directed officials to complete all ongoing stormwater drain projects in Chennai by the end of this month. Similar instructions have been issued to expedite infrastructure work in the suburban areas falling under the Tambaram and Avadi municipal corporations.
Furthermore, authorities have been ordered to finish desilting water bodies by the end of September. Officials are also tasked with ensuring the unobstructed flow of floodwater at river mouths and taking immediate action to clear any blockages within drainage channels.
