The Madras High Court has firmly rejected a petition filed by former MLA Isakki Subbiah seeking to withdraw his resignation. Subbiah had submitted an additional plea to the court requesting to retract his resignation and continue serving as the MLA for the Ambasamudram constituency.
In his submission, Subbiah argued that his constituents were suffering due to the lack of representation and stated that he had written to the Speaker requesting permission to remain in office until the conclusion of the ongoing by-election case. The court, however, dismissed his request, and legal proceedings regarding the matter remain ongoing.
