Tamil Nadu Minister P.K. Sekar Babu has clarified the implementation of a five-rupee fee for mobile phone storage facilities at 52 major temples across the state. He stated that the government plans to extend the mobile phone ban to include medium and smaller temples in the future.
Addressing concerns regarding the fee, the Minister explained that the charge was standardized to ensure the sustainability of storage operations. He noted that it is difficult to cover the maintenance costs of these facilities using only the limited revenue generated by smaller temples.
