Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay will depart for London tonight at 10:00 p.m. via Dubai to attract foreign investment to the state. This marks his first overseas trip since assuming office. Government officials have already arrived in London to finalize arrangements for the visit, during which the Chief Minister will meet with industry representatives to encourage investment in Tamil Nadu. He is also scheduled to interact with the local Tamil diaspora and attend a car race featuring actor Ajith Kumar.
The state government has set a target to reach a $1.5 trillion economy by 2036. Since the formation of the TVK government, 104 memorandums of understanding have been signed within the first 100 days, securing investments worth ₹1,02,514 crore. The Chief Minister is expected to return to Chennai on the morning of September 17.
