A.M. Vikramaraja, state president of the Tamil Nadu Vanigar Sangangalin Peravai, has urged the central government to withdraw transaction fees imposed on UPI payments. He warned that charging merchants for these transactions will inevitably lead to an increase in the prices of goods and services.
Vikramaraja stated that he has requested a meeting with the Union Finance Minister to discuss the issue. He further announced that if the government fails to reach an agreement during these talks, the association will coordinate with trader unions across the country to launch a nationwide protest.
