The TVK government has frozen ₹1,800 Crores in pending dues for Chennai Corporation projects executed during the previous DMK administration. This action follows serious allegations of up to 25% commission being taken and substandard work being delivered without due care. Chief Minister Joseph Vijay has mandated a comprehensive quality review of all past and ongoing projects. Furthermore, new tenders have been temporarily suspended. Contractors found responsible for poor-quality work will face permanent blacklisting from all future government projects.
