The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has officially withdrawn from its alliance with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). This significant decision was made during an IUML state committee meeting held in Chennai. The move marks the end of a nearly 60-year-old political partnership, as IUML had been a constituent of the DMK-led alliance since 1967. The IUML was also part of the current Tamil Nadu cabinet, supporting the ruling DMK government.
