Iran Retaliates, Strikes US Bases Across Gulf
Tensions remain high in the Middle East following a series of retaliatory strikes between the United States and Iran. Hours after the US launched attacks on Iran, Tehran responded by targeting American military bases in several Arab nations. This latest escalation follows a period of renewed conflict. Earlier, a February attack by the US and Israel on Iran was temporarily halted by an understanding and ongoing talks. However, disputes over the Hormuz Strait persisted, with Iran reportedly attacking oil tankers. In response, the US military conducted severe aerial assaults on Iran's air defense systems and boats, bringing the conflict to a new peak.As a direct retaliation to these recent US attacks, Iran initiated coordinated missile and drone strikes on US-linked military installations across the Gulf region. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed these attacks targeted US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, and Jordan.Specifically, Iran claimed its drones destroyed the US military's Patriot system, an ammunition depot, and a radar base in Kuwait. This action came hours after US forces reportedly struck Iranian missile systems, air defense bases, and IRGC-operated speedboats near the Hormuz Strait.Iran has issued a stern warning to the United States, stating, "If these attacks happen again, we will retaliate even more severely," and cautioned against further military action. Previously, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) had announced striking dozens of targets around Iran using various air and naval assets, including warplanes, naval vessels, and drones.
