Central Government Eyes Reintroduction of One Nation, One Election Bill

The Central government is actively preparing to reintroduce the "One Nation, One Election" bill during the upcoming Parliament Monsoon Session. This initiative aims to streamline electoral processes across the country. To ensure its passage, the government plans to engage in discussions with various political parties, including the DMK, to secure the necessary two-thirds majority. The "One Nation, One Election" bill was initially introduced during the last Winter Session. However, it was subsequently referred to a parliamentary joint committee due to insufficient support from members.
