The first phase of Tamil Nadu's 2025-2026 population census will be conducted from August 1 to August 30. Citizens can submit their details online via https://se.census.gov.in starting July 1 until July 31.
This initial phase involves a door-to-door survey where enumerators will ask 33 questions. The focus is on gathering information about household amenities, including the number of residents, rooms, and the availability of internet, TV, car, LPG, and electricity.
Census Director Sundaresh Babu indicated that the second phase might collect socio-economic details.
