A discarded segment of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is on a collision course with the Moon, according to scientists. The rocket part, which was launched in 2025, lacked sufficient fuel to return to Earth and has since drifted beyond the planet's gravitational influence, currently traveling toward the lunar surface.
Experts predict the fragment will strike the Moon on August 5 at a velocity of approximately 8,750 kilometers per hour. Scientists have warned that the impact is expected to create a significant crater on the lunar surface.
