Local holidays have been declared for Salem and Dharmapuri districts on August 3. The holiday in Salem is in observance of Theeran Chinnamalai Memorial Day, while Dharmapuri will observe the day to mark the Aadi Perukku festival.
To compensate for the holiday, Saturday, August 22, has been designated as a working day for both districts.
