The government has introduced the 'Vetri Magalir' goat rearing scheme, an initiative designed to provide new livelihood opportunities for women across the state. Under this program, 5 goats will be provided to each beneficiary at a 100% subsidy.
The project, which has been allocated a budget of Rs 110 crore, aims to support 30,000 beneficiaries. Priority will be given to widows, destitute women, transgender individuals, and women with disabilities.
