The Tamil Nadu government has introduced the 'Rooftop Solar Subsidy Scheme' as part of its 2026-27 state budget. Under this initiative, residents will be eligible for a subsidy of up to one lakh rupees for the installation of solar panels on their homes.
To facilitate the implementation of the project, the government has allocated a total of 50 crore rupees.
