The Tamil Nadu government expects revenue from TASMAC liquor sales to reach approximately ₹56,000 crore in the current financial year. Finance Secretary T. Udhayachandran confirmed the projection while noting that the state recorded ₹51,000 crore in revenue from liquor sales during the previous fiscal year.
The official provided these figures while responding to inquiries regarding allegations of revenue leakage within the state-run liquor retail corporation.
