PhonePe CEO Sameer Nigam has confirmed that UPI transactions will remain completely free for Indian consumers. He stated categorically that no charges will be levied on users for making payments through the UPI platform.
This clarification follows widespread speculation that UPI transactions might become chargeable due to recent tax amendment legislation passed by the central government.
