Tamil Nadu to Review Quota for Government School Students

Tamil Nadu Health Minister Arunraj has announced the formation of a committee, led by a judge, to evaluate increasing the current 7.5 percent internal reservation for government school students in medical and engineering courses. The state government will make a final decision on raising the quota based on the committee's recommendations.

Minister Arunraj emphasized that this internal reservation should be reviewed every five years to determine if an increase is necessary. Currently, the government covers the full tuition and hostel fees for students admitted under this quota. This initiative aims to secure greater higher education opportunities for government school students, with the committee's findings expected to play a vital role in their academic advancement.
