Union Home Minister Amit Shah has challenged opposition leaders to a 24-hour parliamentary debate regarding the NEET paper leak and student protests. He requested that the opposition submit a formal letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker by 2 pm on Wednesday to initiate the session, which would begin at 3 pm.
Shah stated that the government has nothing to hide and confirmed he would personally attend the extended session to address all queries. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju affirmed that the NDA government is prepared to discuss every aspect of the exam irregularities and the subsequent student demonstrations.
The challenge follows ongoing parliamentary disruptions and demands for accountability from opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi. Shah urged the opposition to formalize their request for a discussion rather than stalling legislative proceedings, stating that the public should decide who is avoiding the debate.
