Oracle has reportedly instructed managers to identify employees for potential layoffs ahead of September 1. These anticipated cuts follow a fiscal year in which the company reduced its workforce by approximately 21,000 positions, leaving it with 141,000 full-time staff.
While the company has not publicly confirmed the reports, some teams may face double-digit percentage reductions. The restructuring efforts coincide with Oracle's aggressive expansion into cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure, which saw capital expenditures reach USD 55.7 billion in fiscal 2026.
Oracle continues to balance significant investments in AI capacity with cost-control measures. Despite strong cloud revenue growth, the company's heavy spending and debt financing have raised investor concerns as it manages rising restructuring expenses.
