Minister Aadhav Arjuna has responded to criticism from Leader of the Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin regarding the use of government vehicles. The Minister stated that while officials may own private vehicles, using government cars for official duties is a matter of protocol. He clarified that TVK MLAs who own private vehicles do not request government cars, and that such vehicles are only provided to those in financial need upon application.
Drawing a parallel to housing, the Minister noted that the Leader of the Opposition resides in a government bungalow despite owning private properties, and had previously submitted a formal request for such accommodation during his tenure as Public Works Minister. Addressing claims regarding personal assets, the Minister remarked that while individuals may declare minimal cash holdings or lack of property in election affidavits, many legislators across all parties face genuine financial constraints.
