Minister Nirmal Kumar stated in the Legislative Assembly that environmental clearance for the proposed Parandur airport project has not yet been obtained. He further alleged that those opposing the project may be supporters of the G Square company or individuals involved in hoarding black money.
In response, DMK MLA Thangam Thennarasu countered the Minister's claims, accusing him of speaking on behalf of G Square. Thennarasu questioned the Minister on which lottery tycoon's son-in-law the government is actually promoting the new airport project for.
