Former Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan has confirmed that an Indian loitering munition inadvertently crashed into Pakistan's Kirana Hills nuclear facility during Operation Sindoor last year.
He stated that the drone, believed to be an Israeli-designed Harop, ran out of fuel while searching for radar targets near Sargodha and impacted the terrain. General Chauhan emphasized that the incident was not a deliberate attack, noting that the munition was designed to loiter for two hours before crashing when it failed to locate a target.
Additionally, the General revealed that a planned Indian Air Force strike on Skardu, in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, was aborted due to poor weather. The operation subsequently shifted focus to a hangar at Bholari, which sustained precise damage during the air campaign on May 10.
