AIADMK MLA C.V. Shanmugam has alleged that a relative of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin filed the legal challenge against the 10.5 percent reservation for the Vanniyar community. Shanmugam asserted that he takes full responsibility for his statement and stands by his claim.
In response, AIADMK MLA M.R.K. Panneerselvam dismissed the allegation as false. He demanded that Shanmugam provide evidence to support his claim or have the remarks expunged from the legislative assembly records.
