Minister Jagadeeswari has announced a series of welfare initiatives aimed at supporting persons with disabilities across the state. The new measures include the provision of electric vehicles to eligible individuals and the implementation of free travel for disabled persons on government buses.
Infrastructure developments include the establishment of 10 homes for individuals with mental health conditions, 10 vocational training centers for those with intellectual disabilities, and two homes for individuals with spinal cord injuries. Additionally, two homes will be opened in Cuddalore, and specialized training centers will be established for children with disabilities.
Educational support measures were also introduced, featuring virtual learning programs for students with hearing impairments and reader assistance services for visually impaired students.
