Electricity Minister Nirmal Kumar has announced that irregularities were uncovered during a review of the power department in Madurai, which has been ongoing for the past six weeks. The findings follow inspections conducted on commercial buildings across the city.
The Minister attributed a 200-crore rupee annual revenue shortfall to the negligence of zonal committee chairpersons and the Mayor. He warned that those responsible for the financial discrepancies will face strict action, stating that no individual involved in the misconduct will be spared.
