Minister Jagatheeswari has announced a series of welfare initiatives aimed at supporting persons with disabilities across the state.
The government will provide new electric vehicles to eligible individuals and ensure free travel for disabled persons on all state-run buses.
Additionally, virtual learning platforms will be introduced for students with hearing impairments, while reader assistance will be provided to visually impaired students.
Infrastructure expansion includes the establishment of 10 homes for individuals with mental health conditions, 10 vocational training centers for those with intellectual disabilities, and two homes for individuals with spinal cord injuries.
Furthermore, the government will launch specialized training centers for children with disabilities and open two dedicated homes in Cuddalore.
