Minister Vignesh has alleged in the Legislative Assembly that the DMK is responsible for the practice of charging an additional 10 rupees per liquor bottle at TASMAC outlets. He stated that while employees previously collected 5 rupees, it was the DMK government that issued the order to increase the surcharge to 10 rupees.
Furthermore, the Minister claimed that during the DMK's tenure, electricity bills and rent for TASMAC shops were not paid properly, and that government officials dictated which liquor brands were sold at these outlets. He also questioned the lack of basic amenities, noting that even drinking water facilities were not provided for TASMAC employees.
