Extensive security arrangements, costing approximately 4.5 crore rupees, have been finalized for Chief Minister Joseph Vijay’s visit to open the Mettur Dam. Although the official ceremony, where the Chief Minister will release water by showering flowers, is scheduled to last only a few minutes, the scale of the preparations has drawn significant public attention.
The entire Mettur Dam area has been placed under strict police control, with security measures extended across a 15-kilometer radius. A massive force of 4,000 police personnel, led by 15 Superintendents of Police, 15 Additional Superintendents of Police, and 35 Deputy Superintendents of Police, has been deployed to oversee the event.
