India has emerged as the global leader in unpaid overtime work, according to research conducted by the ADP Research Institute. The study reveals that 24 percent of employees in India perform at least six hours of unpaid work per week. Furthermore, India ranks highest globally for the number of individuals logging more than 16 hours of unpaid labor weekly.
This excessive workload forces employees to work during their designated break times, leading to significant negative consequences. The report highlights that both senior managers and entry-level staff are affected, resulting in increased stress, diminished productivity, and a growing tendency among workers to seek new employment opportunities.
