The document, which bears the signatures of the Additional Commissioner of Police and the Commissioner of Police, alleges that Stalin, son of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, acted against the law as a DMK activist. Authorities accused him of inciting the public against the central government, blaming it for state-level failures, and participating in public meetings to propagate anti-government sentiments.
Stalin was imprisoned under the 1971 MISA legislation on the grounds that his activities and public statements were prejudicial to national integrity and threatened public order.
