Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has decided to use the regular T2 international terminal at Chennai Airport for his trip to London. This decision follows a ruling by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) that denied his advisor, Vishnu Reddy, access through the VIP Gate 6.
While the BCAS approved the Chief Minister's request for special entry, it maintained that accompanying personnel must follow standard protocol and use the regular terminal. In response, the Chief Minister declined to use the VIP facility for himself alone and chose to enter the airport alongside other passengers.
Airport authorities have since arranged for the delegation to enter through Gate D9, a facility typically reserved for emergencies. Local police have increased their presence at the terminal to manage potential crowds and ensure security during the departure.
