No evidence yet to establish alleged child sexual abuse occurred at Kandigai Government School: Tambaram Police
Tambaram City Police have said that the investigation conducted so far has found no material evidence to establish that the alleged child sexual abuse incident occurred at the Government School in Kandigai village, as initially reported. Police, however, clarified that the investigation is still ongoing.
According to an official press release, the alleged incident was reported on September 24, 2026, within the limits of Tambaram City Police. Following the complaint, an FIR was registered immediately and a woman police inspector began the investigation under the supervision of senior women police officers.
As part of the investigation, police said they examined CCTV footage available in and around the school premises. The child underwent a medical examination, while witnesses connected with the case were questioned. Other available scientific and corroborative evidence was also scrutinised.
Police said that based on the investigation conducted so far — including the child's statement and the evidence collected and verified — no material has emerged at this stage to establish that the alleged incident took place inside the Government School as reported.
However, police stressed that the investigation has not concluded and is continuing.
Tambaram City Police also appealed to the public and media not to circulate unverified information, keeping the interests and privacy of the child in mind.
