The Central Government has launched the "Namo Drone Didi Scheme" to transform rural women into entrepreneurs and modernize agricultural practices. This initiative officially provides a comprehensive support package, including an 80% subsidy, financial assistance up to ₹8 lakh, and free drone pilot training along with a license.
Eligibility for the scheme is specific. It is exclusively available to Women's Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
Furthermore, applying SHGs must be registered under the Central Government's Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM). A key requirement for the drone pilot is that the selected woman from the SHG must be over 18 years old and have completed at least the 10th grade.
