No political events in government schools; strict action assured if orders are violated!
The School Education Department has already issued a clear order stating that no party's event should be shown to students on school premises, except for official events conducted by the government. Violating this order, the incident of live-streaming and screening an event of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam for students in a school under Krishnarayapuram Panchayat Union, Karur district, is wrong.
I immediately ordered a detailed inquiry into this matter. The inquiry confirmed that the school headmaster acted unilaterally, violating departmental orders and regulations. Following this, immediate disciplinary action was ordered against the concerned school headmaster, and he has been suspended. Further investigation is also underway regarding another video.
We will continue to firmly adhere to the Honorable Chief Minister's directive that 'There is no place for politics in educational institutions'. The clear policy of the School Education Department is that school is for education, not for politics. To prevent such incidents from occurring in any school in Tamil Nadu in the future, I am once again strictly advising all District Chief Educational Officers, District Educational Officers, and school headmasters.
My dear teachers, protecting the educational environment and safeguarding the neutrality of educational institutions is our collective responsibility. Violation of government orders by anyone will not be tolerated. Strict disciplinary action will be taken without hesitation against those who violate the rules.
