The Department of Agricultural Marketing and associated agencies have released the commodity price report for Tamil Nadu as of July 23, 2026. Among grains, paddy prices are recorded at ₹3,738 per quintal for the OTHER variety, ₹3,303 for RNR, and ₹2,100 for BPT, while maize is trading at ₹2,750 per quintal. Pulses show black gram at ₹10,479 and green gram at ₹9,850 per quintal. Groundnut prices remain steady at ₹14,066 per quintal.
In the spice and horticultural sectors, dry chili leads at ₹22,500 per quintal, followed by turmeric at ₹17,500, copra at ₹17,200, and coconut at ₹4,200 per quintal. Vegetable prices are currently marked at ₹3,600 for onions, ₹3,250 for tomatoes, and ₹2,700 for potatoes per quintal. Market analysts noted that while paddy and groundnut prices remain stable, daily fluctuations continue to impact the prices of tomatoes and onions.
