Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay is preparing for his first Cabinet reshuffle following a confidential performance review conducted by Chief Secretary M Sai Kumar.
Four ministers, including Higher Education Minister P Viswanathan, Transport Minister A Vijay Tamilan Parthiban, Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Minister K Jagadeshwari, and Human Resources Management Minister D Sarathkumar, are expected to be dropped from the ministry. The decision follows reports of performance issues and various allegations against these officials.
The exercise is scheduled to take place after the conclusion of the Budget session in September. In addition to the removals, the reshuffle will involve the redistribution of portfolios for Ministers S Keerthana, S Kamali, and S Rajesh Kumar.
While the current phase is primarily administrative, a second phase is expected to follow, focusing on political appointments for former AIADMK members who joined the TVK, pending the outcome of by-election proceedings currently before the Madras High Court.
