Education Sector Budget Sees Significant Funding Cut

The government has significantly reduced funding for school and higher education in the current fiscal year budget, with a total reduction of 2.341 billion rupees. For the 2025-26 fiscal year, school education received 46.767 billion rupees and higher education was allocated 8.494 billion rupees. In the current budget, these figures have been lowered to 44.527 billion rupees for school education and 8.393 billion rupees for higher education.
