The Tamil Nadu government has established a new committee to oversee the selection of trustees for temples with an annual income exceeding Rs 10 lakh. Government Secretary J. Kumaragurubaran issued the official order regarding the formation of this panel.
The committee will be chaired by Bommapuram Adheenam Sivagnana Balaiya Swamigal. Retired District and Sessions Judge K. Ramanathan has been appointed as vice-chairman, while film producer Archana Kalpathi, retired IAS officer Sampath, spiritual orator Sumathisree, and playback singer Dr. T. Velmurugan will serve as members. The Commissioner of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department will act as the ex-officio member and secretary of the committee.
