Protests in Karnataka have been called off following the fatal shooting of three Tamils by forest department officials in Hanur. The decision to end the demonstrations came after the government provided formal assurances to the victims' families and local villagers.
Authorities have promised a thorough investigation into the conduct of the forest officials involved in the incident. Additionally, the government has pledged compensation of Rs 5 lakh to each of the victims' families. Following these commitments, the families and villagers have agreed to accept the bodies of the deceased, which were being held at the Mysore government hospital.
