HR&CE Minister S. Ramesh announced that the state government is working to recover 40,245 acres of temple land previously transferred to private entities. This includes 33,949 acres erroneously reclassified during the computerization of land records, with officials already pursuing appeals to reclaim 464 acres over the past 100 days.
Beyond land recovery, the government has successfully collected 108 crore in outstanding temple revenue and is actively pursuing an additional 2,000 crore. To support temple infrastructure, the administration has allocated 125 crore for the restoration of 64 ancient temples, alongside 120 crore dedicated to repairing 152 dilapidated sites.
New cultural initiatives were also unveiled, including an annual village deities festival and a heritage tour for 2,000 devotees. The government plans to revive the Thekkampatti Elephant Welfare Camp with 3 crore in funding and will publish 108 rare devotional books to preserve the state's religious history.
