The Commissioner of Collegiate Education, Ponnaiah, has issued a formal notice to Joint Director Cynthia Selvi regarding a controversial circular aimed at restricting student participation in protests. The Commissioner has demanded an explanation as to why the directive was issued without obtaining prior authorization or approval.
Selvi has been directed to submit a response within one week. The original circular had instructed college principals to coordinate with higher education authorities and the police to prevent students from joining demonstrations organized by Congress and Left-wing political parties.
