The Tamil Nadu government has appointed ministers to oversee development and emergency relief operations across the 15 zones of the Greater Chennai Corporation. Public Works and Sports Development Minister Aadhav Arjuna has been tasked with coordinating the supervision of the entire district.
Under the new directive, specific ministers have been assigned to monitor zonal activities to accelerate development projects and ensure preparedness for disaster management. Among the initial appointments, Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Ramesh will oversee the Thiruvottiyur (Zone 1) and Manali (Zone 2) areas, while Minister for Commercial Taxes and Registration Lokesh tamilselvan is assigned to the Madhavaram (Zone 3) and Tondiarpet (Zone 4) zones.
